Speaking Your SharePoint User's Language
Better Training for Real People
Speakers: Simeon Cathey & Heather Newman | Content Panda and Liz Sundet | Focal Point Solutions
Everyone experiences the world a little bit differently, so we have to ask ourselves: does it make sense to expect them all to learn--or be taught--in exactly the same way?
In this session we're going to explore the different learning styles in the popular VARK model and how they relate practically to SharePoint training and support. Understanding how we can optimize our methods and materials to reach the greatest number of users, in a way they respond to the best, means greater training outcomes for everyone.
We'll look at different ways to train users on SharePoint and what works best in different situations: techniques ranging from traditional classroom training, to self-help and coaching, to gamification.
Finally, we’ll take a tour of Content Panda for SharePoint, an application capable of delivering help, training and support content across a variety of different learning styles simultaneously. It allows SharePoint stakeholders to present in-context, on-demand training and guidance to their users from within the SharePoint user interface—wherever it makes the most sense. Tips for day-to-day tasks, access to professional SharePoint training material, and guidance on company business practices made available to users when, where and how they want it.
Because the most powerful training tool is understanding how we're different.
